Mooning-A Beginner’s Guide

Before the eye rolls start….this is not another “too woo” thing I’m going to share with you.

The moon’s phases and movements have been used for centuries to guide everything from agriculture to human behavior, and there’s no reason why you can’t use this ancient wisdom to benefit your business as well.

So, how exactly can lunar planning help your business? Keep reading to find out!

If you do a quick google search on the moon phases, you’ll find the basics. You’ve probably heard them before. New Moon is for setting intentions and Full moon is for celebrating your success from what you manifested with your new moon intentions. Pretty simple and straight forward.

But… (no pun intended)

What so many of these Moon Phase articles are missing is that everyone has different energy levels for different moon phases. If you REALLY want to use lunar planning for your business, you’ve first got to find out YOUR energy levels during the cycle of the moon. That means tracking your personal energy level and motivation throughout Luna’s cycle. I personally suggest doing this for at least 3 lunar cycles. That should give a good base line.

You don’t need anything fancy to do this. Just grab a good old spiral notebook and something to write with.

There are plenty of places to find out what phase the moon is in. Nasa, The Old Farmer’s Almanac, the night sky! There are even apps for this.

Or you can snag my moon phase calendar for the year RIGHT HERE. (It’s also a fancy coloring calendar! Oooo!)

Now at the end of the day, simply write what phase the moon is in and how you were feeling throughout the day. Since this is all about your business, ask yourself questions like,

“Did I have a productive day?”

“Was I able to accomplish my tasks easily or was it a bit of struggle?”

“ Was I easily distracted today?”

You get the idea. After a few lunar cycles you’ll notice some patterns for yourself. This is where the magic happens!

On the next Full moon, go outside, naked….JUST KIDDING! Unless, of course that’s your thing. Then by all means, let the naked dancing commence!

I digress. Back to the patterns for yourself.

What you’ll see is that during a certain lunar phase you were more productive or just felt better in general. Also, that you had periods where you were maybe more “in your head” or easily distracted.

“What does this have to do with my business?”, you ask.

Great question.

Now you can plan certain business activities and tasks around your personal energy levels. For example. If you notice that when the moon is waxing (that means getting bigger, waxing is maxing) that you were you’re most productive and happy self. Then a full moon period would be a great time to do a launch of something new. Or maybe host that challenge you’ve been thinking of.

Conversely, if your energy levels are lower during a new moon phase, use this time for smaller, “behind the scenes” tasks. For example, working on your websites copy, or even taking some reflection time to see what’s working and where your business could improve. The whole point to using lunar planning for your business is to use your own personal rhythm and cycles in harmony with your business.

This is what true alignment is. It’s honoring yourself so that you can show up in a way that is beneficial. Incorporating lunar planning into your business routine can help you tap into the natural rhythms of the universe and enhance the success of your endeavors. Give it a try and see how the power of the moon can benefit your business!
