Carmalita's top was down, (that's my Mini Cooper Convertible) it was maybe eleven at night, and I was somewhere on Highway 101 with nothing but headlights and a sky so clear it looked fake. I'd pulled over because I'd spotted Orion, and once you spot Orion you can't not point out the rest. My passenger, a friend visiting from Seattle who'd never seen stars without a city glow washing them out, asked me why the constellations all had names like they were characters in a play.
"They are characters in a play.", I said.
Every single one of them got named because some ancient culture looked up, saw a shape, and told a story about it that explained something they couldn't otherwise explain. Why the harvest failed. Why a king lost his throne. Why love makes people do stupid things. The mythology isn't decoration bolted onto astrology after the fact. It's the reason the whole system exists.
And once I started teaching business astrology to women in their second season, I noticed something. The myths aren't just pretty backstory. They're diagnostic. Mars isn't "the action planet" because someone assigned it that job at random. Mars is named for a god of war who acted first and thought later, and if that's the placement sitting in your chart, I can tell you exactly where that shows up in how you run your business before you even finish describing the problem.

What Sky School Actually Covers
Each post in this series takes one sign, planet, or astrological point and walks through three things: the myth behind it, what it rules in a chart, and the specific business pattern that placement tends to produce.
You don't need to believe in astrology for this to be useful. You need to be willing to notice a pattern in yourself and ask where it came from. The mythology gives the pattern a name. The business translation gives it a use.
Some posts cover the twelve signs. Some cover the eight planets from Mercury out to Pluto. One covers Lilith, the point most astrology 101 content skips entirely and shouldn't. Each one stands alone, but they were written to be read in clusters. Your sign points you to its ruling planet. Your ruling planet points you to every sign it rules. Follow the thread and you end up with a much fuller picture than any single sun-sign horoscope ever gave you.
Why the Myths Matter More Than the Symbols
Most business astrology content skips straight to "Mars means action" and moves on. That's technically true and mostly useless. It's a label without a mechanism.
The myth is the mechanism. Mars was two different gods depending on which culture you ask, and the tension between them (the Greek Ares, impulsive and not particularly liked even by the other gods, versus the Roman Mars, a disciplined protector of the state) tells you there are two very different flavors of Mars energy in a chart. One launches without a plan. The other launches with a plan so tight it never actually ships. Knowing which myth is doing the driving in your chart tells you which failure mode to watch for in your own business, not just that you're "action oriented."
That's the difference between a horoscope and Sky School. A horoscope tells you what you are. The myth tells you why, and why is the part you can actually work with.
